This week we have picked up a 'new to us' (2015) Benimar Mileo 201. I have managed to find most things, but there are three things that at the moment are causing the "scratching of heads". The only manual I have with the vehicle is rather poor photocopied version which does not help with these queries. I am posting these here in the hope that other Funsters have been able to find out the answers with their own vans.

1. Inside the roof above the cab, there are two round LED lights, one each side, facing towards the rear of the vehicle. I have been unable to find any switch to turn them on. Are they reading lights for when the captains chairs are swiveled round?

2. To the left of fold out steps for the double bed (close to the casing of the shower room), there is a 2 or 3 inch long plastic slide. Looking inside the door which the steps are contained in, I can see a cable connected to the slide, which runs down towards the floor. I have slide the button up and down but have not been able to determine what is does.

and,

3. How on earth do you set the time and date on the main instument cluster (It is correct on the Blaupunkt unit). I have followed the instructions in the Fiat Owners handbook (page 121 to125), but the display just cycles through about five functions, coming back to "exit menu" each time. I cannot get into the Clock or date setting in order to ake the necessary changes.

Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully received.

3.

The cab lights have their switches on the inside of the lip to the edge at each side .run your hand along the shelf should be about half way

Hi, many thanks for that Vanderek, I have found the switches now, exactly where you said they would be! That's one thing off the list!

The slide, does it operate a flap in the blown air heating to turn on/off an area?
Just a guess!

If it's a Fiat with ignition on keep pressing the mode switch until you get the setting you want them adjust using the up & down buttons, then press the mode button.

Hi Lenny, thanks for that.

Yes it is a Fiat.

The problem is that the system seems to have got stuck into a sub-cycle. Pressing the mode button only brings up "Menu", which if I press it again brings back the standard screen. When on the menu screen, if I press the up or down arrows, it scrolls through "speed beep"; Buzzer volume"; "Service"; "Passenger bag"; and "exit menu". Try as I might, I cannot get any other screens. I have tried long presses (5 plus seconds) and short presses, but to no avail.

On the standard screen the date is wrong (hence me wanting to change it) and the time that is also wrong, is flashing all the time. Is it usual for the time to be flashing all the time (I have never had a Fiat before)?

I though I was quite good at sorting these sort of niggles, but this one has got me beat at the moment!

I think it must have a fault, I did all the settings on my without even looking at the manual it was that easy.

There is a specialist Benimar forum on Facebook, lots of info there. Worth joining that.

Yes thank you for that.

I do not use FB because several years ago, I had some real problems and issues with it, and although I realise FB has cleaned up its act a bit recently, I will still not use it through principle.

I was in a similar position when I had my Dethleffs, although thankfully the DOC had a web page also, but apparently a lot of the ‘action’ was through FB.

I have looked at the BOC website, but it seems that almost all the day to day contact is through FB.

Ha Ha. we had the same issue with ours. To be fair to us its not the most obvious spot to put a switch. We spent ages looking for it then Angela decided she didnt like them anyway :whistle2:
