Hi All
as some know I’m going to travel down the west coast of France and into the top part of Spain over a 4 or 5 months period starting late November.
What I’m considering now is still doing the west coast of France but when I get to Spain head for the southern part and perhaps spend two months in a site or maybe more, I’ve been told you can get a good deal the longer you stay. Is that correct.

So what I’m looking for is recommendations of sites in southern Spain. I will only have a push bike so shops and amenities need to be fairly close.
Best Wishes Tony

Hi Webby1 I was given the understanding that most go just to one area, not sure which area of Spain they are talking about but listing areas I would like are as follows
Barcelona, Tarragona, Valencia, Alicante, Almeria, Malaga and Marbella.
Anywhere there is a good site near to amenities which allow discounts for extended stays and a swimming pool would be great.
Best Wishes Tony

You can get some good deals in Portugal and Spain for 30 days stay or more - so good that for some sites, it is worth paying for a month and then use it as a base to explore the area, returning every week or so for a refill for servicing of MH and a few days in one place before moving off again. My cousin goes to a site in Portugal where the monthly fee is the same as paying for 7 nights.

What do you plan to do on the site?

You might find that swimming pools aren't heated over winter so even if they have one, you won't want to spend long in it.

Hi Mattyjwr. That is a good question, explore the area as much as you can on a pushbike, just chill out,
I like to be near to the sea, metal detect on beaches, I like photography have a good camera with lenses although a pain to lug around, sample the local quizine fish and chips full breakfast etc lol.
I’ll be on my own so will have to entertain myself.
Best Wishes Tony

That sounds great, that is what I would like but can’t see that sort of price being offered in Spain.

Have a look on this site .....

https://www.campingcard.co.uk/spain/

The yellow map on the right is interactive so just click on any area you are interested in.
This will show the number of sites in that area. Click on the number and this will bring up a larger scale map showing the locations of the Acsi sites. Click on any of them and they will take you to details of the sites.

Regarding discounts, the Acsi rate is discounted in the 'low' season but most still discount further for longer stays but dont include the electricity allowance you get at normal Acsi rates.
There are plenty of threads on here re. Acsi, just put Acsi in the search box on the top RHS of the page.

Hi webby1 aren’t most ACSI sites closed for the winter?

Most if not all sites along Spain’s coast from Gibraltar to Barcelona will be full with the odd space cropping up on a daily basis... go in land a bit and you will find more spaces...

Most sites take ACSI and long stay discounts kick in around 60days... you’ll be looking at €15-20 a day.

Unless pools are covered you won’t be swimming...

But it will be a lot warmer then northern Spain..:D

The ACSI book plus card runs from Jan to Dec and the new one doesn't get delivered until end of Nov early Dec which is a bit of a pain for you timing wise. Just thought I'd point that out, if you order one now you'll get the 2018 one , some campsites might not be fussy but others might well not honour it come January. Might be worth posting something on here to see if anyone has a 2018 france spain book plus card, they're unlikely to check the signature, and offer to pay the postage if they've finished with it. Then you'd have a start, I can't offer you ours as we're off to Spain today.

The 2019 ACSI book will be available to buy in Spain, we buy ours from the local Motorhome dealer in December.
