So im looking into the MIFI effort as its clear ill need a better arial in remote areas than my iPhone has built in if I want to stay connected to the world.

My current phone is 5G but yes doesn't get it often other than city centres. But for future proofing I was thinking I should get 5G so I can fit and forget. But reading all the info on sales stuff it seems the arial's are 5G ready but the router part only support 4G?

Is it a case of the tech has not got there yet? And ill have to swap the router at a later date?

Also how does it work with the sims? do they go in the router or the arial?

Im specifically looking at the Avtex model at the moment (well branded by them anyway)

You can get a 5G router if you want:

NETGEAR Nighthawk M5 Mobile 5G Router With Sim Slot Unlocked (MR5200) - Ultrafast 5G | Connect Up to 32 Devices | Mobile wifi router | Mifi Device Amazon product ASIN B08HWRYVH5

Yes…..well actually the other way round - the antenna plugs into the router…. ;)

Leave the avtex alone it’s shame

The net gear is far superior

It should be for that price!!! o_O

Think about it … 5g is still a fair way to be useful, as you’ve said only in cities, are you camping in cities?
What’s 5g like abroad..?
Give it another 5yrs and stuff will be cheep enough to buy and, AND 5g might, I say might be out in the country side by then…

I think you’d be wasting your money doing it now…🤔

We have 5G here in Javea, but our devices are 4G 😁 but it makes no difference because our fibre is fast anyway. 😎
Both of these connections are our router. 😁 Bob
