I have a problem with my tap and I am puzzled as to how to resolve the issue. As you can see from the photo, I have removed the lever but now I am stuck. The threaded base doesn't seem to want to separate from the chromed plastic body. Common sense tells me that it must be possible to access the switch and the ceramic disc.

Help! Supposed to be going away next week and Mrs P is looking perturbed.

Hard to tell from your photo... but on one I did really all you had to do was remove the tap lever... one screw covered by the hot cold water disc..
After that everything just pulls apart ie tap spout and chrome body... though it's not immediately obvious the chrome body will separate. .. the screws in your photo are I think to separate the water casing of the tap body to get at the valves..
Should add that the chrome body on mine has to be twisted clockwise looking down on the tap to disengage some little lugs that keep it in place...
I'll attach a picture which might help...

The screws visible are, I think, to remove the cartridge but they are no way accessible with the body in the way.

I found a demo on U tube as to how to take the tap apart. It turned out that the wire to the micro sw had become trapped in the mechanism and eventually parted. A common fault apparently a bit of soldering and as good as new. Sorry can't find video at the moment but am sure it's still out there.
