A thank you to Thanet Council for they have marked out 5 dedicated MH Spaces in the Car Park behind the Minnis Bay Brassière. £10 for 24 hrs so over night is permitted. No facilities only a drain grate for Grey. There are 3 eateries there , two Dine in and one kiosk plus ice cream kiosk in summer.
The parking is on the Ringo App which declines to take money in winter as it shows the car park as closed, so freebie today.

Is the drain marked for grey waste ? Could just be a surface water drain otherwise

I'm afraid that is not the case unless the vehicle is simply parked. If you look at para 35 of the Traffic Regulation Order you will find:

7 years campers before that
Im suprised that thanet would allow overnighting as they are the worst councill for no overnight signs and no motorhomes after 6 on evey seafront
Compared to neighbouring canterbury who have provided three places
Canterburypark and ride

Could it be that they've decided that they need to start adapting to a changing world?

Unless it says no overnight parking on the sign I don't see a problem..
Or does every motorist apart from me look up up the road traffic regulation orders every time they park their car or van.

I'm sure that very few people check TROs when they park.
The problem is that, as often pointed out, parking and habitation/camping are not the same thing in the UK and, as most motorhome owners know, whilst councils sometimes allow parking of motorhomes, few councils allow habitation/camping in their car parks. The sensible thing to do when intending to do the latter, therefore, is always to check.
