Hi Geo

You were correct as far as you went, but it also depends on

a: vehicle weight
b: Living van or not ( you covered this base )
c: Your honesty when taking in for MOT

We could do with inviting experts from different fields onto the forum to answer these difficult questions. Maybe we should have a poll.

Got the info now from the web link, Geo seems to be correct, and as he is our MOT expert that will do for me.

Hi Diablo

Maybe you should read the link in its entirety, because under certain circumstances Geo was right and in others it could prove to be wrong, it depends on vehicle weight.

Here is the relevant line from correspondance with VOSA

However, many living vans are outside the scope of MOT testing as they exceed 3,500kgs in weight. These heavier living vans should be tested at a VOSA goods vehicle testing station under the Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1988. Such vehicles must be tested annually from the first year following registration.

Is that unladen weight?
