Many years ago we stopped a night at Camping Municipal Metz. It was a miserable night but camped on the banks of the Moselle left it's impression.
We have just returned.
"You should never go back" was completely wrong. Three days there was a delight. The camp site is right in the middle of the city yet it's quiet and peaceful. It's a tree lined site with trees must be well over 100 years old, but some younger ones.
This time we saw some of Metz in the sunshine, it's a delight, several fine parks, a fine city centre with 4 grand churches and shops. One park even has a white water canoe course.
21 Euros a night with electricity in the campsite, less on the air outside.
Highly recommended.
