Today been to have the airbag recall done. Dealer service was excellent, apologised on Mercedes behalf, sat down for refreshments and 15 to 20 minutes later, keys brought back to us.
So I have a new drivers airbag, but how do I know this? Just have to trust the dealer I supposešŸ˜€

(Mine is 2018)

Thanks to Google you can check here:

For some reason it says my vin is invalid, I double checked it is correct but it still won't accept it, does anyone else have the same issue?

It would appear there are three (potential) recallsā€¦

Looks specific to one make of Airbag

My experience of Mercedes dealership was very different. After them trying to charge me for a new one for quite some time (see my post I have linked below)>

I booked in with LSH Auto (Chinese owned). Too big and no customer care.

Can't get through on the telephone to confirm the parts were in and the appointment. When I did, it took them two days to return my call. But I had already driven over and had the work done.

Never offered refreshments on Both visits. No complimentary wash and vac as promised when I booked the appointment. But then I am just a Black Van Man.

Airbag was replaced, I could tell as mine was scratched on the outer surface. There was another recall for a Software update, but I asked them not carry out this part as I have a remap.

Takata Airbags.

The refrigerant is a contentious issue!. Mainly linked to the French, again. If my Vehicles A/C System was factory fitted with an R134 System. I would want A Mercedes Dealer changing it to R1234yf.

If this has anything to do with the emissions cheat, like VAG.

Be careful as the VAG remap doesnā€™t do the engine any favours.

Looks like my Merc (2018 MLT 570) is OK on the airbag and the refrigerant issue, but needs the Diesel software update "when the recall starts, they will contact me" .......

Whats the refrigerant issue ? I know there is a newer greenhouse friendly (friendlier?) gas around but that didnt become mandatory until a few years ago.
