This may well have been discussed before, but just to add to the General database pool:
My Frankia on a LWB Sprinter with V6 has done around 22,000 miles in 2 years.
On the very recent ski trip I was driving around 85 kph on an autobahn covered in salt and an ambient of -10 or so.
The truck juddered then the ABS fault light came on (little wheel with arrows).
Brakes still fine.
This would clear spontaneously or on switching off then back on.
Twice I also had speedtronic/cruise control fault light.
More worryingly, several times it ? Entered limp mode and rev'd but would not change up.This was usually and dangerously when entering a motorway slip road.
Mercedes Innsbruck said safe to drive home.
To cut to the chase, the truck is still under warranty and euro commercial Cardiff have fixed the front wheel speed sensor FOC.
I gather they are vulnerable to salt ingress and thereby failure.
Have to say the truck was tested in some very winters conditions (-25'c and less) with salt, snow and freezing rain at times.
I think next season I'll head out March rather than January.
