Hi we have owned one of these "C" reg for the past 4 years very pleased with it , we get about 22 to 25 mpg , it is not a fast vehicle best chugging along at around 55 mph and slowing down on hills. as with all motorhomes check for damp ,appliances working ok

Rust not normally a problem on chassis built like a battleship but cab will show signs of rust look into airintake for cab heater grills below windscreen water collects in here common fault, major problem to repair as you cannot get inside,
if no heater fan it rusts up (replacement abt £100 from europarts)
bottom of cab doors tend to rust and cab wings

Engine is will do starship mileage if looked after

Mot mine just passed without any advisorys at all very pleased with that

Traveled most parts of Europe with mine very warm in winter was in France in early February only problem water froze!

any more help give us a PM :thumb:

Regards Charlie

Hi Charlie
Thanks for all that, the guy did say he had replaced the heater fan so I guess that's one job I don't have to worry about:thumb:, although how do you stop it all happening again. What do you think on the price, having a google about it seems pretty cheap to me!

Hi Tim, I have an 88 207D, great durable old bus but as already stated, they are proned to water ingress, via the air vents, I retro fitted new air boxes to mine , leaving no way for the water to get inside, sadly, it was too late to save the heater fan but there are no more leaks, I cut all of the rot away from and including the vents and air boxes, I then fabricated replacement boxes, from aluminium, making them slope towards the outside, with drain tubes, I then fitted surface aluminium louvre vents, painted up, they don't look too bad, I'm sure that you will be pleased with your purchase

Thank you very much Les, I never actually got to see said van, bought a Auto- Sleeper Pescara, then later a Hymer B584 which I'm still very happy with(y)

Right, in my defence, here's another one for all you motorhome guru's, I'm having power steering fitted to my Merc 207 next month and I want to change the steering wheel, from a dustbin lid size, to a more practical one, does anyone know if any other will fit straight on or of any spline conversion kits that are available ? thanks , in advance, Banjo

Any idea if later models , which were fitted with power steering as standard, had a smaller wheel & if that could be a straight swop ?

Do you have any models in mind Gus Lopez ?
