I'm a newbie
Hi, what are people using on top of memory foam mattresses.
thanks

We have a cheap mattress topper followed by half a double sleeping bag opened up. We keep the other half for cold nights.
Having enough storage space we carry two thickness of duvet and two sets of pillow cases and duvet covers.

If you're at the stage of thinking of buying memory foam mattress just note they're hotter than a normal one and very heavy. If you have one and finding it hot tencel sheets can help.

Ours from Jonic is not only lighter than the original mattress by a long way but with a mattress protector is reasonably cool.

Memory foam is a lot warmer than an ordinary mattress but you can get them with ‘cool’ covers, we have a memory foam topper with cool cover.
We use bottom and top sheet, medium weight quilt-with cover all year, in hot weather the quilt gets dumped and in cold weather a fleece blanket gets added between top sheet and quilt!
A top sheet means i don’t have to wash quilt cover quite so often!

Not all foam mattresses are the same. I recall Dunlopillo having tiny vertical holes 'drilled' through to allow better circulation. Modern mattresses may have something similar. My mattress at home has a foam side for Winter and something else on the other for Summer, springs in the middle.

Been using this for over a year now, including nearly 3 months constant use at the end of last year during a house move, never had any problems and not too hot either

Just change my original Latex foam mattress,s to an Emma memory foam ...... The best upgradeI I,ve done.. Its much cooler than the originals
which was a concern, but as been mentioned here, things have moved on. It has the recommended topper/protecter. and only cotton sheets, as there is an interaction between man made sheets and the foam.
Putting it in place is easy as they are vacuum packed, But getting it out will be difficult !

I avoid memory foam at all costs for the reasons above. My bed has a Zonesleep topper on it which is breathable and has transformed my sleep in the van.

That 2 inch mattress weighs nearly 8 stone!! Surly not.

I think it’s rated as 50kg per metre cubed! So for an average double sized mattress topper of 5cm depth, I think it works out as just under 6 and a half kg?

We pushed the boat out and ordered custom made pocket sprung mattresses from Duvalay - for our Swift Bolero 714SB - money well spent - more comfortable than our beds at home!
