Has anyone had any experience with a pivoting style bike carrier? We now have ebikes and the rack on the door is definitely not up to taking that level of weight. The van swing looks good and at an acceptable not silly price. Anyone got one for sale also?

I've no experience of the Van Swing, but we had a Memo M-Star bike carrier on our previous MH thought it was great. Well designed appeared to be good quality.....we used it for 2 heavy ebikes and when we sold the MH after 3 years the bike carrier was still in virtually pristine condition. Based on our experience I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of their other racks if I needed one.

The van star is a chassis fitted swing out rack, it will carry 75kg of bikes. It’s very expensive and would need fitting by a specialist..
The van swing is a tow bar mounted swing out rack with a 50mm ball to attach your own bike rack. You need a tow bar fitted to your van for this one and the load limit is 60kg, which includes the weight of your bike rack. I have the van swing, which is a really well made piece of kit, but I have to strip the batteries etc off to keep within the loading limits. Just Kampers (VW camper specialist) sell van swings for the X250 for £575, and you can get either swing left or swing to the right.
I went for the van swing over the van star as I didn’t want a big rack permanently on the van, even when not carrying our bikes. The van swing is a relatively easy DIY fit, assuming that you are happy with spanners and drilling one 12.5 mm hole in one of the van swing brackets. The electrics are all factory fitted and just plug into your existing tow bar socket.
