Been looking at a video on YouTube about the Maxx air ultra roof van and thinking of having it fitted to replace the omnivent fan that comes as standard. Has anyone else done this or looked at doing it. It was a Greg Virgoe and it looks quite impressive. Thoughts please?

Thks that’s really helped- think we’re going to go for it!

I can highly recommend the MaxxAir Deluxe fan. Extremely versatile in use being able to have it either open or closed whilst the fan is running, leave open whilst driving and temperature controlled. Ours is positioned above the kitchen area, so great for extracting cooking smells. We also find it great at night, it's very quiet with the fan set at 20% operating speed and by having a roof light open in the bedroom area, it draws sufficient air across us providing a nice cooling effect.

Funster Wissel fitted one and posted a YouTube video of the fitting and follow up on it's performance over a year.

Couldn’t find it. Do you know when Wissel posted it?

I'm about to replace a standard small Heki vent with a fan. I'm put off Maxxfan because you lose light and, worse, it's screwed to the roof. I've had the Omnivent in two previous vehicles and been very happy with them.

I fiited one just under a year ago.It certainly was a good investment. Kept us cool in spain and good as an extra extraction fan when cooking. Couple days ago I used a small allen key to take the fan off and wash it in soapy water as it does splatter a few mossies it seems. Also wiped the edges and the mesh .The mesh itself is made of iron/steel and has small patches of rust or oxidation. I gave it a clean up and spray with a black metal spray paint I had to hand in the garage.Good as new now.
