Hi what do you do with yours if you are parked up at home, when you close up for the winter , take it out or leave it in, or just put some dehumidifier things in the van .thanks

Hi.
In our static some while back,we stacked seat bottoms/backs ( Mattress parts ?) with air gaps and put small bowls of salt around to gather up any damp. However, this was over twenty years ago. But one answer to your question. Better luck with the rest. (y)

Seat bases and backs, bed mattress etc....stand on a side with air gaps between.
Cushions, bedding etc.....take indoors or risk a Micky invasion.

While your at it take any none-tinned food indoors

I trust my missus to decide what to do and when to do it.

She leaves them in the van but keeps an eye on them and will open windows for a day to give them an airing if necessary. It depends on the weather and the ventilation built into the van. In the 90s we took out all the mattresses and cushions.

Take our three bed mattresses out and put them down in the cellar……where the boiler is. I put them in a very large storage bag, but leave it open for ventilation, and put some wood underneath to keep them off the floor. Our cellar never gets cold or damp.

I also leave doors open, and use a few damp crystal things. Only foodstuffs we leave in are some teabags and coffee…….always need a brew if we’re out for the day.

We use the van all year, but if we’re not overnighting in it, then the mattresses stay in the cellar any time of the year.👍

I just leave our in situ. Never had any problems yet. We also try and use ours throughout the off peak season. In fact we are going to Abbey Wood for a few days next Monday to see some some shows.

£1 each, put them in at the beginning of October. I’ll change them at Christmas and take them out March……..cost £4 in total.👍

Nothing, never had any problems, dehumidifiers are a waste of time. Motorhomes are permantly ventilated no point in trying to dry out the atmosphere.
Lenny HB agree 100%...dehumidifiers waste of time however we won't sway everyone... plenty on here insist dehumidifiers are an absolute necessity to keep moho in tip top condition during layup...

They work in our house, so why not in our van?🤔

We‘ve sorted two slight damp problems in our house, bathroom and our attic bedroom with them. We also put one of the crystals in a hanging bag in a wardrobe that always seemed to have a problem…..but no more.🤷‍♂️

We don’t lay ours up for winter.👍
