Ive been out polishing again and noticed that my moho is blessed with 6 led marker lights.
I cant recall seeing them on and I am not sure how to turn them on, or even if they work.
Are they just supposed to be an indication of the length and height of my bus thereby should come on and go off with the headlights?
I thought they were reflectors until I looked closer.

If they are indeed lights rather than reflectors then yes they should come on with you lights.

Defo lights.
Do you think they should only come on with the headlights then? Rather than just side lights.
I will check later now I know.

Not sure, but worth trying headlights.

They will properly come on with side lights. (y)

Have you checked the manual ?

Should come on with sidelights but on a previous van (2014 Peugeot Boxer, you could not switch the sidelights on independently of the headlights i.e. only two position switch either off or head and side on together.

Need to check for an mot. Any light fitted as standard must work for an mot

There will be people that say different ..... But last MOT centre said the base vehicle lights had to work and reflectors on sides for certain length etc.... Didn't think MH added lights had to illuminate for MOT and I went to great effort to make my over cab upper lights work at the front!

End-outline Marker Lamps
Motor vehicles first used from 1 April 1991, exceeding 25mph maximum speed, and trailers manufactured from 1 October 1990 must be fitted with at least two white outline marker lamps at the front of the vehicle and two red ones at the rear in matched pairs and the lamps must be lit when the vehicle is used on the road between sunset and sunrise, or during daylight hours when visibility is seriously reduced.
The white front lamp and red rear lamp on one side of the vehicle may be combined into a single lamp with a single light source.
Exceptions
End-outline marker lamps are not required to be fitted to:

  • motor vehicles and trailers not exceeding 2100mm overall width
  • incomplete vehicles and trailers going to a works for completion or to a place for storing or where they will be displayed for sale
  • agricultural vehicles and works trailers (schedule 13).

Just been out to check and all 8 markers are working on both side lights and headlights.
2 white high up at front, 4 amber at side and 2 red high up at rear.
Like a xmas tree.

I have similar marker lights and the work off the lights AND are reflectors

I believe the amber side lights are required by law if van is longer than 6m if this is so then they will be required to work for it's MOT.
