There are quite a few lay byes on the road to Dover and we've used them several times. However, we usually use the P & R at Canterbury and then go to the tunnel but Dover in reasonable distance and only £3.00 with ride into Canterbury included.
Ah right. Didn't realise but no entry after about 8.00 pm so you couldn't do 00.01 to 24.00 anywayAddendum
It is £3 from 0000-2400
So for staying the night you have to pay 2 X £3
However the facilities have improved with a new dedicated Fresh Water tap, new large waste bin and an Official oveflow MH parking area for when normal is full - thanks to Colin Perris(I/C P+R)

What you mean is that the UK is paying for all of the improvements, the EU is only giving back part of what the UK originally paid them in the first instanceThey ( uk/ eu ) are paying for the improvements which look great also they are keeping part of the Dover harbour station which is also great ( history) and they are keeping one /two of the pylons from the cross channel hovercraft which is also great . And it is also GREAT the eu are paying a large sum , maybe the last parting gift to the United Kingdom ! Happy days
Yes, Mike you should be fine. There were plenty of MHs parked along the front today when we were there. We are catching a late night ferry , Will it be ok to park on the sea front until then.
