You do not say what you want the map for.

Is it just for roads to get you to Slowenia or are you using it to tour on your way down?

What scale do you want?

If the former any map, e.g. AA will probably do. If for the latter, then it is difficult to beat Michelin, but for scale and detail I would by the individual country ones, but that could cost you about £100 in total, and you need to know how to read them, in a cartographic way, to get the best out of them.

Sorry if this answer is too detailed.

Michelin do a road atlas of Europe but I don't think it would be of much use, the scale is very small and it covers lots of countries you won't need.

For route planning I find a paper map of the country I am planning to drive across much more useful than an atlas. It depends what route you are planning to take but you might get away with just maps of France, Italy and Slovenia. There are several makers but Michelin are where I would look first.

There will be those who just type where they want to go into their satnav but I like to know what I'm driving through and past as there might be something interesting worth a detour - as Michelin say. :)

We have maps and books! They show points of interest so much clearer when planning. Enjoy
