Motorhoming since 2015......
Just ordered a 24” Manta TV (Polish-made, I believe?) for the new van....the Avtex 18.9” is too small to see (according to SWMBO), so I thought I’d give it a try....very cheap, no sat. tuner, no DVD but has USB rec/play and is full HD. It arrives on Tuesday next, so will give it a try and report back......

Ok, the TV arrived and is now mounted in the ‘van. First impressions - it seems very light compared to the Avtex even though it has a mains transformer built-in and is hard wired with a mains plug (I’ll probably remove that!). Tuning is straightforward even though it tries to ‘analogue tune’ first - this step can be skipped - and digital tuning is quick, finding all available channels for this area. The picture, both HD and SD, is very good, and there seems to be a good range of adjustments to fine-tune it to personal preference. Channel ordering seems a little strange.......5Star appears in position 1 where you’d expect to find BBC1, so I’ll have to ‘RTFM’ to try and sort that out! The remote control seems a bit hit-and-miss with the TV not always responding to button presses......suspect batteries, perhaps?
Overall, I’m pleased with it so far (early days!), and I’ll add comments over the next few days if anything of interest comes to light.....or it stops working!
Bearing in mind that it only cost £127.95, it seems like fairly good value!
