This is an email I received today, it came from a trusted source so I thought I would warn all you funsters.

Ginny

"Most destructive Virus Ever

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!

I also checked snopes.com, this morning, and it is for real!!

Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next several weeks. Do not open any message
with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD,' regardless of who sent it to
you.

It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the
whole hard disc (C drive) of your computer. This virus will be received from
someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason
why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive
this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called ' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you
by a friend, do not open it.! This includes all cards, too. Shut down your
computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by
Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet
for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard
Disc, where your vital information is kept."

Warning is a hoax but is causing confusion because it includes a link to information about a genuine but totally unrelated virus.

Hi if you go to snopes snopes.com: 'Postcard from a Family Member' virus you will find it wasn't discovered yesterday its been about for a few years, and its not the most destructive.

The virus is real but you have to click on one of the links in the Email to possibly be infected, and it won't burn your hard disk.

If you have an Anti Virus Program running on your PC which is fully up to date then you should have no worries about being caught by a virus.
It is not in the software programmers interest to allow a virus to slip through the net and i for one prefer to trust them than other "sources".

This is a Hoax, reports arequoted out of context and has been going around for a long time. warnings such as this should be personally checked before posting.
But thanks for the thought
