Having had a lorry reverse into our 5 month old Hymer B524SL, I am interested to hear if anyone else has been unfortunate enough to have had to plan for the repair of similar damage!!

As a minimum we need new radiator, bonnet, windscreen and lights. However, the big debate seems to be about whether to a) -take off the entire front panel as far as the seam on the roof, or b) - to cut this and replace the lower half only making a join somewhere up the side of the windscreen, or c) - just to patch it in situe (all 3 options are viable, but choosing the best!!!)

Any advice very gratefully received

Thanks

only 5 months old the insurance company should replace it with a new one, end of story
The chassis is probably out of alignment now as well

Dont have a bodge job, it will be spotted and devalue the van considerably, front end damage is very off putting.

Dont forget to claim for loss of use, i.e hire van whilst it is off the road, you wont be able to use it for those weekend trips away, whyu should you be out of pocket.

I would take pictures for future reference.

I too would be looking at a new for old deal on such a young vehicle
You would not be asking for anything unusual in such a request
