Harmony 736 2019
We have a 2019 Burstner 736. Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice regarding how to fix the magnetic door locks which have basically stopped working on the door to the toilet? I’ve tried some washers under the locks to bring the contacts closer but still not successful unfortunately. It appears the magnetic system has failed!! Apart from fitting a strap system (which I don’t really want to do), is there anything else that might work? Many thanks

According to Southdowns Motorhomes service department, this is a regular problem. It happened on our door too (2019 IXEO i720) after only 3 months. Has been replaced now under warranty. (Was due for warranty work in March 2020 but pushed back due to Covid and was carried out in October)

Lock has failed again so going to follow Driventemple advice and try the magnets from eBay.

The magnets from eBay worked a treat. Bought 4 for £3.59. Only used 1...

Thanks for the tip Driventemple (y)(y)

We also have a 2019 Burstner Iexo 736. Found if the door is fractionally out of line the magnetic catch fails to work. Eased where it is mounted by about 2 mm works fine now. When the door is shut if you try to lift the door or pull it tighter and the lock works that is the problem. If I can ask you a question, how long does it take your batteries to come. Up to 100% from say 85% mine will be on charge for anything up to a week and not get there. But if I pull the big fuse by the battery wait a minute or so put it back. In it reads 100% ?

2019 Burstner too. I had to slightly lower the receiver in the frame as the lock would not always pop out. Depended on the way the van was parked up but all ok now and works.

We have just had the same problem on our Lyseo 744- I bought a new latch mechanism from Southdown-just out of warranty. I have tried to remove the old one -taken out the handle spindle and the 2 screws on the door edge but it is still tight at the top— is there anything else securing the magnetic catch or do I just need to force it?

Well I have followed the earlier posts and put in 2 pairs of washers behind the receiver, this has improved the pull. However the door is fractionally too low and lifting the door up while closing, it slides up on the hinges seems to work, though not ideal. The replacement lock does seem to have a stronger pull, I’d still like to get the old one out, though, to at least shave a bit off the tongue to avoid lifting the door, so ideas appreciated.
