Hi can anyone recomend a site that will be open next weekend arround Mablethorpe / Chapel St Leonards. We are going to watch the sand racing on Sunday so thought it would be a good excuse for the firsf outing. Has anyone been to Olcote Farm, Alford.

:thumb:Hiya Andyman..

Sorry I don't know your name.(Andy perhaps)

I have been past the site and it looks ok to me but can't comment .

Alford is a nice town with Lovely Windmill if you're interested.

We spend a lot of time just up from Mabelthorpe at Sandylands beach with the Kids.

Find Mabelthorpe too busy and commercialised.

When and where is the racing on please?

Might be interested in going?:thumb:

havent been to olcote farm but i have raced at mablethorpe and have parked on seafront at the side of the dunes pub/club,The carpark is very steep entrance with the cafe{norm open on racedays]there is restrictions in summer but didnt in winter and they want your buisness.we used to go saturday evening and just park up but you wont get out untill the racing has finnished on sunday,Cant be shure of parking restrictions as i havent been for 2 years so might be better checking first.
hope this helps, its a right good day,but rap up warm as its bl***ey freezing,

Hi American Dream the sand racing is on this Sunday, it starts arround 10.00am and finishes late afternoon. Head down the main st and up the slope, they race in front of the cafe's and the Fair, great fun but usually very cold. If you go look out for a 46 year old with a pot belly wearing an Aussie hat. I doubt there will be many fitting that description.

Hi we have booked into The Laurals Farm near Theddlethorpe/ Chapel. We arrive very late Friday and will spend Saturday in Chapel and drive to Mable Sunday morning, if i remember there is parking for M/H in the main car park behind the Co Op.

Hi Ray, yes thats the kiddy. I will post a few photo's of the first outing when I get back Sunday. Scared to death at the moment, with the thought of filling it up. Something like an 80 ltr tank and £1.07 a litre.

No I dont race, I dont think I'd have the bottle. When you see some of the guy's running modified 600cc plus sports bikes it's bloody scary. I first went about 30 years ago, road all the way from Leicester on a moped. It was over the Christmas break and we were froze. They stopped racing until a few years ago. For some reason I keep going to watch despite the cold, beats watching the TV.
