Maastricht campsite

Hi Folks, headin to an Andre Rieu Concert in July and was wanting recommendations please on a campsite close to Maastricht from where we could get a taxi to and from the concert.

Closest we've stopped is Valkenburg which may or may not be close to wherever the concert is.

just had a google around for you weejohnw and there's a campsite called vinkenhof that are apparently running shuttles from the site to the andre rieu concert, hope that helps..

edit, saw it on the camping and caravan club site..
(would put the link on but have no idea how to do it from this ipad, sorry)

Hi brian, thanks, Valkenburg site looks very nice indeed, but perhaps a little bit too far out from Maastricht.
Have found Campsite De Oosterdriessen and a little bit further away is
Camping Meerssen on acsi web site. Have any Fun folk any encounters with either of these?
Need to be able to get a taxi in and out from concert venue in Maastricht. Mobility problems so too far to walk and concert likely not over til around midnight.

That looks close to impossible, room for serious let down. How about finding a hotel within walking distance and book it now.

Hotel? We have our hotel on wheels and we also travel with our dogs, so hotel not an option. We will be ending a four week holiday in Rhine/Mosselle area with the Maastricht stop. Vinkenhof looks promising with bus transport. Now to find out more. Thanks for the options and information, Much appreciated.
