Hi

My 3 year extended warranty ran out a couple of weeks and I'm after advice as to which one is decent. The previous one 'covered' ( I use the word loosely as they all wriggle and squirm when you try to claim) the vehicle mechanics as well as the habitation area to some degree, appliances etc. Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Personally I wouldn't do it. I would put the same amount in a separate account to cover any unintended breakdowns, keep up with the service schedule and join a breakdown club. Now on our third van and never had one.

Thanks for the advice.
The last one was almost a grand, all up front for 3 years cover. Plus they seem to take great pleasure in saying "I'm afraid that isn't covered" at every opportunity

Of course they will they're in it to make money they aren't a charity. They have to from the premiums paid in cover any claims, cover their admin expenses, cover all the other overheads, probably paying a commission if brought through a dealer and make a profit for the shareholders.
Unless you think you're MH is likely to be a lot less reliable than average or prone to habitation eqpt breaking down you're going to be better of just paying yourself

I'm undecided which way to go at the moment. Our cover ran out 3 weeks or so ago and we hadn't renewed, our clutch went on our way to Devon 2 weeks ago. Hopefully it is covered by the guarantee of the 2 grands worth of work carried out in March. It was a new slave cylinder amongst other things, so it's gear box out again 🙄

Your probably right but it was a bit more complicated than that. I'm no mechanic but it was something to do with a faulty solenoid not talking to the starter motor ???? Which caused it to intermittently fail and knock a load of teeth off the fly wheel ???? and damage the starter motor causing it to sound like somebody rattling a box of spanners when you tried to turn the engine over.
