i'm a newbie
Hi Funsters, Sometime in March my heating decided not to work, and as it was at the end of winter, and the Corona Violence struck, hence everthing
closed down. So as things are opening up and getting back to normal/new normal I really need to do some about it. I have a Truma warm air heating system
and my M/H is a Hobby 650, (2004 reg plate) and I’m guessing the original heating system since new. I have owned the van since June 2017. I am a full timer
and the first two years the heater worked well, but the third winter it started to play up a bit, first I had to put the thermostat up to number 6 to get it to work
and then I was putting up to number 9. This worked ok until January and sometimes it would come on and other times would not, so I bought a new
Thermostat and had the heater Serviced, but continued to only work when the thermostat was turned up high, and then early March not working at all.
i would turn it on and hear the clicking noise but nothing happens. Now Funsters does anyone know of a gas engineer in the Bristol area who could help ?
or because of its age (16 Years ) I need to invest in a new heating system? If yes then which system and what would be the cost of a new heater.
sorry for rambling. But please help
Giorgio

Have you tried looking on the Truma website for a nearby service agent. ?

We have a new MH. The heater packed in last August.
Called the dealers. Little red restart button on the boiler. This worked. Not sure it will for you but might help. Press for 10 seconds

When I've had heaters clicking to try and get started it's been my regulator getting gummed up. Did I read somewhere that these heaters are sensitive to gas pressure or am I making that up?🤔
Anyway I guess I'm trying to say don't just look at the heater, the age shouldn't matter if it's been serviced.

Above are mobile, so might be worth a shout 👍

If you run out of gas or its low. Yes the heater will not work

Hi all thank for your replies and thank you irnbru, I have gone on line and found a service agent in
the Bristol area, and I will contact them tomorrow.
cheers Giorgio 👍

Hi, we have a gas / electric fire in our van. A year or two ago it decided not to work properly on electric.
It’s no doubt a different problem to the OP’s but we got a local engineer from the Mobile Caravan Engineers Association who fixed it for us.

If you want a mobile engineer who knows what he is doing and won’t charge the earth I would look them up.

Thanks Paul, I have left a message on their answer phone, so hopefully they will get back to me today.
