Evening!
Reading another post on here regarding petition for Aires in the UK, here is our review on the St. Annes's effort.
We had first tried the Aire/Parking at the Pier. However, the parking was very busy and two cars had parked in the longer bays "Suitable for large vehicles". You cannot blame the drivers of these cars as it does not state "Motorhome Parking Only".
So we headed to north beach car Park. Did not like the idea of stopping at first, we were alone to begin with. We tried every campsite in the area and they were all full.
£4 overnight
£7 for 24 hours
£20 for 72 hours
The issues we had/witnessed over 3 days/nights.
1, A couple arrived in a Motorhome with a Dog, parked alongside us. They played their music nice and loud until around 11pm. 8am and the boom box returned. Dog was well behaved. Had they stayed a second night, might of had to have a polite word.
2, A French Motorhome arrived, parked on the opposite end and then proceeded to place all their 4 cycles along side to put people off parking next to them, rude to say the least.
3, Two younger females arrived one morning (I think they may have been locals). Parked their Shiny new Range Rover and Porsche, failed to pay the 90p parking fee, or show a £25, 12 month parking permit and went off for a run. On their return, the parking warden had issues them a ticket. They were not best pleased and decided to scream dangerously across the car park as they exited.
4, An older woman arrived with three young girls, three horses and a dog. The horses and the dog shat all over the car park. And when said party had left, she also left a pile of horse sh1t, a pile of hay and a huge rottweiler turd.
5, Several of the younger generation came in the obligatory Pimped Corsas, a few McDonalds Burgers and a few doughnuts later, not the sugared type, the tarmac and rubber screeching ones. They left their fast food papers in the car park.
6, A large Asian Family came in a Minibus. They stayed the day on the beach and when they left, emptied every bit of rubbish they had onto the car park, included a few dirty nappies.
7, Probably the most frowned on. Around 8pm on Saturday, a large 30 off foot American RV arrived. As there was no Space along the beach side / and / or their outfit was too large. They backed up to the fence/wall of the houses. Then switched on the Diesel Genny for an hour or so. Same in the morning. But worse was, they dumped a huge load of grey water into the car park before they left.
8, One night there were 10 of us. All parked up for the night. by 9am, everyone except us had left. Saves buying a ticket and you avoid the parking warden.
9, The waste disposal further down in St.Annes was blocked by cars. We carry a spare black tank for the Loo, thankfully.
Peoples behaviour never ceases to amaze me some days. And we wonder why local Authorities are reluctant to provide parking.
