Just prior to Covid in 2019 the government was going to introduce a luxury tax on all new vehicles valued at over £40,000 With an increase in road tax duty for the first 3 three years

Now and because of the massive growth of motorhome ownership since and their ever-increasing value, the government is proposing re- introducing this luxury tax on motorhome.

It will be in the form of an additional 50% in road tax duty on all motorhomes valued at over £40,000

There will exemptions - PVC, Day vans, Vans with windows and all vehicles with a removable Porta Potty type toilet. These will be exempt

Also any vehicle carrying a blue disable badge will also be exempt, as these toilets will be classed as an invalid toilet.

It will mean an increase to £445 per year for my standard 3.5 tonne motorhome.

Fortunately, my wife has a blue badge so we will be exempt – Happy days

I can see there is going to be some cheap motorhomes about and a rush on Porta Potties

Yeah it's true:whistle2:
I'm exempt on nearly every point👍
