Left MoHo, Peugeot Boxer cab on drive and went to Devon for a couple of days. In the morning noticed I had a notification from Metatrak (immobilizer) on my phone that the previous evening (2330) the ignition had been switched on and off about 20 times and the battery then disconnected. The location on the app showed it was still at home. Got a relative to check and it was where I had left it and had been broken into. They got in by making a small hole under the drivers lock. The ignition barrel was removed, they had opened up the fuse box and the cap was of the plug which you use to check faults etc. They had also lifted up the dash board above the instrument panels and pulled out 4 wires. For some reason also pulled out the drivers directional ventilation unit. Nicked my dash cam and also smashed the indicator light on the drivers wing mirror. From the app they were around for 15 minutes. They also took the ignition barrel.....can you get a key cut from a barrel? and the lid covering the fuses. Now unable to switch the immobilizer off until battery reconnected and Growler (alarm) not working.
However I think Im a Lucky boy and have got off lightly. Thanks to @vanbitz who fitted the system.

Although repair is a pain, the van is still where you left it, which is the entire point of the system.

I'd be p***ed off, but like you, happy I still had my van!

Its going to be a real Bug.. to get it out from where parked if the garage cant get it started and the steering lock taken off. Should be easy to repair but looks like another trip to Vanbitz in the near future.

The ignition barrel being taken out means the steering lock can easily be taken off. That's why thieves remove it. They won't have taken it with them to get a key cut, more likely to dispose of it elsewhere so that it's not available for fingerprint or DNA evidence.

Another theft attempt thwarted by Vanbitz 👍
