Good start to our weekend away at Winchester Christmas Market, our motorhome was stuck on the grass at home even before we left but luckily my trusty Discovery pulled it out with ease. Just a shame we can’t take it with us when we venture out in the motorhome

Is that your foot well mat I see in piccy one?? I have previously given serious though to an electric winch added to the van for such situations but I've forgotten the code for the lock on my purse

It’s the carpet out of the bedroom area in the motorhome. We took it out a while ago so thought I’d try using it under the front wheel but it didn’t work. A winch on the motorhome, what a fantastic idea. (y)

I'm puzzled as to why you didn't put the tow rope on the tow hitch ?
I had to make the tow rope quite short so thought it easier to wrap it around the towbar bracket on the motorhome

Unless of course you mean on the back of the Discovery ?
The Discovery has a purpose built tow hook built into the chassis just above the towbar so you can still pull something even without a tow bar fitted

Tow ropes generally work as a spring, they stretch first then contract as you put tension on them. I learned that when I was in Highland4wheeldrive club up in Inverness.
I had a TD5 Defender that I used for proper off roading and got into some scrapes with it, all in good fun.
