Looking for one now
In a few days time we will be heading to Surrey from Cumbria and we will want to top up our refillable LPG system on route. We will join the M6 at Carlisle, then take the M42, M40, M25 and finally A3 to Guildford. There doesn't appear to be an LPG station near us, so can anyone recommend locations on route?
Thanks :)

Jn 12 on the M6. CANNOCK.
Turn right onto A5. within half a mile is an independent company down a lane on the left 73p or right opposite is a BP garage at 99p.
Also jn 9 on M6 turn left to Walsall and there is a Morrisons. Fuel and LPG.
Download the mylpg.eu app 👍

I would be tempted to come off the M40 at Bicester area and take the A34 down to Chievely service station which I am fairly certain has LPG, then beyond there and still on the A34 there is a big petrol station that again I am certain has LPG. Keep on the 34 til you see signs for Basingstoke and jump on the M3 and I know for certain that Fleet services have the cheapest in the area generally.
Then come off at Camberley and take the BVR (A331) to Aldershot and jump on the Hogs Back (A31) into Guildford.

Added issue of M25 now solved and this route is more or less all dual carriageway and motorway. NB when coming off the M3 and coming off the A331 there will be large traffic jams but only at the same times you would expect them on M25. Hogs Back is normally rammed at 0900 hrs as well

Alternatively you could take the A339 from Newbury to Basing but we never do as it is not that fast.

Come off at J32 if going north or J33 if going south, take the A6 towards Garstang, if going south there is a GULF garage just before the turn off for Garstang on your left and opposite a Texaco garage, if going north its about 300 yrds north of the Burlington Caravan junction and on your right, the LPG pump is at the far end of the garage near the car wash bays

There's lpg at Ullswater Road garage just off jct 40 of the M6 at Penrith, access is a bit neat, but doable.

lymme srevices had it a few months back near thewall viaduct

Thank you very much. Really helpful and the mylpg.eu app is a real asset too :)

I find these apps very much out of date so I would always call first before diverting too much 👍
There are two main problems with LPG. The collaboration between Shell and Calor which was Autogas was pulled some time back as the infrastructure was to expensive to run. Secondly Morrison's started selling LPG at very low prices which made a lot of the small independent dealers pack it in.

Another vote for Tebay Southbound. The pump is on the far left and a bit tight if busy. Usually best to reverse off it.

Turn off M25 at A3 junction. At roundabout, instead of right turn to Guildford on A3, turn left towards London and take first junction. At roundabout turn right toward Cobham and down that road about 250m. There you will find a Sainsbury's that sells LPG. Then back to A3 towards Guildford - simples! :giggle: ;)

Also, Fleet services on M3, both sides sell LPG although this is a little out of your way.

Happy travels!
