I went to Morrisons today to fill up the Gaslow tanks. Usually I stop filling when it slows right down but today I just kept on pushing the button. It was going up very slowly but after a ludicrously long wait I got another 3 litres into the tanks. I'm wondering if I haven't been filling up properly or whether it was just a one off slow pump. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes there was a notice on the pump to remind me that it would do that. It was just the fact that it kept on filling, very very slowly. I gave up because I was cold and my arm was tired from holding down the button but it was still going about 1p per second.

If you fill up somewhere different next time and it's OK, blame the pump.

If it does the same next time it might be worth getting it checked but I would not think there was much in the filling system to cause a slow down unless a pipe in kinked of course.

it is possible that if you have a under slung cylindrical tank it has moved (rotated) in its cage or harness if this has happened the internal shut off valve will try to close down the filling as it thinks it is full best get it checked by a LPG specialist should not cost much to put back in correct position. jt
