Lpg is alive and well in Australia, there are umpteen garages around Fremantle and Perth, this is seen as the oil company's response to pollution and is coexisting with petrol and diesel sales. There is almost no electrical car sales in WA and I haven't seen any public charging points. Is the demise in the UK a political thing to force us to go electric why not push lpg sales again as a alternative. The public bus service here runs on gas.

Running vehicles on LPG still pollutes the atmosphere
 
I would have thought in a country where the major cities are so far apart it's a different situation to the UK.
