I am a newbie
Hi,
We are newbies. We got a Citroen Relay converted recently and we will go travelling this September for few months.
We will spend time in the balkans ( including Albania) maybe Romania and Bulgaria, Greece and turkey.

Is LPG widely available in these countries? And if so, do we need adapters?
Thanks
Maria :)

Oops forgot to add, By LPG I mean auto LPG, from petrol stations, not bottles obviously!

You will certainly need adapters. You can buy sets, just Google "lpg adapter" for them.

The website mylpg.eu shows places you can get lpg.

:welco:

Plenty avalible in Greece and well signposted garages put up signs miles ahead.
According to mylpg plenty in Eastern European countries a bit scarcer in the balklands.

Download the mylpg.eu app.

Same set of adaptors you use in Europe should be fine

Hi and welcome.

What is your setup? if its a tank, why not fit an outside bbq point to it somewhere so at least if you do struggle you can feed a local bottle in through it.

Hi jongood, sorry for the delay replying. I was unable to post, took me a while to find out why

Yes we have a tank under our van. I think we will have to do as you said, so we use a bottle when we cannot fill our tank. Might get this modification done abroad. It must be cheaper in est Europe. We will see when we get there in a month or so.
Thanks.

having spent a lot of time in Bulgaria and Rumania, you would be hard pressed to find a filling station that did not have LPG on the pumps. The Romanians and Bulgarians are famous for converting petrol engines to run on LPG.

I know the OP is asking about the Balkans but just for good measure and on thread topic, LPG is no problem in Poland.

On Motorways it is signed 5 km before relevant stations, but as usual cheaper off motorway.

There's more garages selling LPG in Romania, Bulgaria & Turkey than you can shake a stick at.

Thanks Pete and Geoff. Good to know. Albania might be the tricky one but we will see. It seems we should be ok in most of Europe. I will get my husband to buy the set of adaptors mentioned above by Lenny.

In the past we travelled with motorbikes, so finding petrol was not an issue and we had a multi fuel stove so we could use petrol to cook ( not fun to siphon from the bikes though :envy: ).

Thanks again,
