Hi all, has anyone lowered a drivers seat in a Fiat Ducato (2006) at all, or know how you could do so? I'm 5'4, can reach everything with the aid of a cushion but am finding that as my heel doesn't connect with the floor I'm getting some back issues :(

I was told to take the seat to a welder and get my passenger seat reduced.
seemed the best option for me as it’s also the only swivel seat.

there was a bit that could be reduced and still able to get a battery fitted under it.

maybe that’s your only option..

or a extended knee replacement. 😂

First question.

2006 was a changeover year for Fiat Ducato's.

In that year one could buy an X244 model with a 2800cc engine, or
a X250 model with a 2300cc engine.

Which one is yours;?

It's the 2800cc one (not that you'd know! Needs a remap :D)

I had lowered seatboxes installed on my PVC - reinstates the seat height to the original.
Not cheap, but worth every penny as everything is where the manufacturer intended.
The only issue [apart from cost] is what the converter has put under the cab seats eg batteries.

We had the same model and went up to Shepton Mallet where we bought one.
It wasn't a retail shop so that is of no use to you.

A trawl through Google reveals several sources.

A previous poster has pointed out your necessity in ensuring that if your
battery is installed under your seat, you should ensure that there is sufficient room.

I did the swap myself and also swapped over the swivel seat.

I'm not being 'Strengthist?' but the seat you sit in is exceedingly heavy and awkward
to deal with when it's away from it's bolts.

Unless you are confident in handling that seat, I'd source the lowered seat and get assistance.

The time it took to lift and manoeuvre my seat out I was ready for a sit down.

yes there heavy and awkward to get out through the door.

removed both of mine so as they could be re trimmed and re foamed when we were refurbishing Swifty.

Do you still keep the swivel function then?

It may not be the solution you were looking for, but have you thought of fitting basic accelerator/brake hand controls instead? Mind you I’m not sure how they would work if yours is a manual gearbox.
