We have just come back from a lovely weekend in Salisbury CC&C site near Old Sarum. We love Salisbury and it only being 1.5 hours its a lovely weekend retreat. We hadn't been to this site for years, in our caravan days we prefered the Coomb park site next to the race course. But with that site you really needed a car. So we opted for the one near Old Sarum which was a 20 min walk into Salisbury, perfect. On the way down we stopped at Stone Henge which was very easy parking on their overflow field. Being English Heritage members we wanted to make the most of it 
. On the Sunday there was a special medival event re-enacting the siege of Old Sarum. This was an excellent day out with outstanding views. . We walked to the old Sarum from the campsite across fields, about a 10-15 min walk.
Just thought i would pass on my view of the sites location.
