Lovely time at Glencoe (1 Viewer)

Thanks to Steve @Red Dragon for the ski lesson really made a difference to my enjoyment. I've only been skiing a handful of time and although I can stay upright Im a bit like a Giraffe on ski's, Steve spent some time with me the other day just pointing out some simple mistakes I was making mainly skiing .

After this I enjoyed a couple of days skiing and already itching to go back. I knew I had improved when I skied down to a tow and this guy turned round and asked me what it was like up the top of the mountain, thats where the black and red runs are does he think Eddie the eagle is back.

If any of you are thinking of heading up that way I'd recommend mid week when the schools are on, all our previous visits have been weekends or school holidays and the place was mobbed. This week i was on the slopes for 1/2 hour on my own and very quiet for the rest of the day.

@lorger Hi Gerry it was really nice to meet up with you,and I am glad you enjoyed the rest of your skiing.
We had to leave early as the daughter had problems with the oil boiler at home,so no hot water or heating not good at this time of year,all sorted now

Great pictures thanks. Spent nearly a week camped in Motorhome on their car park 2 years ago with some great skiing. Apparently the skiing is very good with lots of snow this year.

Is there really lots of snow? Never skied in Scotland but might need to reorganise the next few weeks and have a bash. Is the Moho parking option still valid?

If so where? And with what facilities?

Looks like you had a goodtime guys, gutted I missed it.

Their are two sites with motorhome hookups, one is where the guys were this week Glen Coe, and the other is Glenshee
Glen Coe http://www.glencoemountain.co.uk/ There are about 6 hookups I believe.
Glenshee https://www.ski-glenshee.co.uk/ A similar number of hookups as Glen Coe I believe.

Looks like you enjoyed it!. I cannot stay up on roller skates!. so I would be no good and anyway my knees are F*****d (knackered). So what my mate refers to as "plank pushing" is out. Enjoy guys and gals, Give my Best to the Midges!!

Looks great guys wish I could have been there but I'm off to Alpe D'Huez in 2 weeks.

Ive been doing the lonely Planet thing since I started skiing last year. None of my family or friends interested in skiing.
If anyone fancies trying the bigger Alpine mountains in the future then let me know. Hopefully I can make the next meetup at Glencoe

We’re going up to Glencoe from 28th Feb for 4 nights. Probably a bit easier than setting off to the alps as we’ve only had first van for a few weeks. Calling it a tester for a three valleys tour at some point.

@Marty Gilly and Pup one tip, worth watching the weather forecast for your trip if it forecasts strong winds then chances of no skiing likely,internet was bad when we were there?

TIP!!!!! Fold in your drivers mirror if driving round Loch Lomond on the way - a stretch is quite narrow & for a Ford Transit destroyed mine! I do have a camera that still gave me vision behind but no one is going to overtake you.

Thanks for the tips guys. Busy at the moment moving the bindings on my new to me skis. Can’t get my big foot in! Seems wind is the main issue but plenty of white stuff. It’ll be one run then choc time followed by another couple then lunch and beer. Repeat........ etc
