Won’t be many campsites open at this time of year but there are loads of aires.
Save yourself a few quid and try some aires, many of them free.

We stayed on the aire in Perigueux. It is well laid out but a tricky barrier control box. Many gave up and went away :giggler:
Free emptying facilities and easy walk into town. We were able to grab the space next to a grassy bit where that single MH is in the picture. Gave a nice bit room between us and the neighbours!
I’ve looked up closest campsite and it closed 15 September. We went to that area in September and found most campsites closing.

Thanks for responding.
We’ve found a lovely municipal site fairly near Perigeux. Open all year round and excellent facilities and WiFi included.

busby - it was OK, a bit overcast when we were there but also some spells of warm sunshine. Lovely autumnal feel about it.

If you are heading north on the N21, just past Chalus there is a nice aire on the left at a place called Pageas. It is next to the road, easy to see. There is a restaurant in the corner (Chez Agnes) worth a visit, normally well populated with locals, most of whom seem to be British.
