since 1997 (many years tugger before then)
Anyone selling, or thinking of selling, an 'A' class motorhome as we are looking to buy one.
Top of our list would be a mercedes based Hymer, closely followed by a Concord Concerto...not really looking for another Fiat based one.
Got a budget of up to £45,000.

regards
Allen

Anything in Classified?

I think you might struggle with your budget, particularly your preference for a Merc up front

Motorhome Camp have a Concerto for sale just shy of £47000 a 2006 model and Motorhome depot one at £34 ish a 2004 if I remember wish I could persuade the other half.

The Motorhome Camp Concorde Concerto is on an Iveco Chassis/Engine, and the one for sale on Motorhome Depot, I think belongs, to a Funster and is also on an Iveco.

Hi Wallburger/Allen,
We intend to sell our 41.5k miles, silver metallic, 2010 8.4m Frankia I8400 Luxury Series A class in March, after we (hopefully - we intend to try to get out after lockdown in December,) return from Spain.
Its on a Mercedes 518 chassis and powered by their 3 litre V 6, coupled with a "proper" automatic gearbox. It may be too long for you but PM me if you would like details.

I have had Fiat and Mercedes and much prefer the Mercedes. Rear wheel drive and smoother, apparently more powerful engine. Currently 3L V6 with 6 speed manual.

Don't really want to go through a broker...a few bad reviews all over the net.....but thanks

Why Mercedes?

I think I'm favouring rear wheel drive, and I've had two merc based vans in the past, followed by the last three being Fiat, which as we all know will 'skid on a wet leaf'...we do a fair bit of rallying with DA's in fields.

He's German

No he's (me) not...Walburga is my mums name...she was born into a (very) catholic family, and named after Saint Walburga, an English saint from way back.

Lewis Hamilton?

If anything, an association with him and his latest theatrics would put me off the mark!

I'm grateful for all the replies, and the search goes on.

Personally I would include IVECO chassis in your search, better payload than Merc and good solid package (y) later vehicles from some manufacturers are optimised for A class by moving all the dashboard up and forwards to maximise useable space.

Thanks for the heads up Norman, but it is a little too long.

Are they really that good ??

Although there can't be any van worse than Ducato. I was axel deep in mud within seconds on slightly wet grass. I had to find a French tractor to tow me out the next morning.

I avoid grass like the plague now.
