Looking for a particular fabric (Interweave, Tweed) (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm finishing up my motorhome/van conversion and looking for a particular type of upholstery fabric. I've seen it used in a couple of conversions hiding the metal areas. It id definitely not the normal van lining carpet that I can get from eBay.

I've included a couple of pictures. If anyone familiar with OutsideVan, they use it in their builds too.
I've seen people calling it on many names (Automotive Tweed, Interweave Fabric, Crypton Fabric, Marathon, Duramax) but these are probably US terms/brands as I could not find anything on the web that would be located in the UK.

I noticed that they are usually made of 100% polyolefin/olefin. Not sure what that is and if helps at all?

Does anyone know where I can source it in the UK?

The guy I used to buy this sort of fabric from retired, but maybe the people that bought the business still have stock? Zebedee fabrics of Bournemouth. Alternatively a car upholstery specialist may sell you a few metres

Otherwise ask Mill Garage (who are converters) if they have anything similar in stock and would sell you some.

Olefin is a US term for what we would call polypropylene or polyethylene if that helps. Olefin is not a term I have heard used in the UK or Europe fabric shops but have seen in the US.

Yes, I found a webshop in the US where it said 100% Polyolefin (Polypropylene)... then did a quick google search and realised that polypropylene and polyethylene is made out of polyolefin. So I started looking for these kind of fabrics in the UK and managed to find a couple. These fabrics are also used on outdoor furnitures and yes, in the marine industry.

They are quite expensive to be honest (£30 - 60 per meter) so I'm really just trying to find something that is cheaper and still has acceptable quality. Also, I think it would be good if it had some degree of flexibility or
stretch like the usual van lining velour carpet.

I sent out requests for fabric samples and I'll be getting these in the next couple of days. I can report back, that might help other people here looking for something similar.

There used to be a specialist fabric warehouse in The Lake District but I can't remember the name A websearch has brought up a few hits (UK Lake District Fabrics) and you might find something with a similar search. Loome Fabrics may be able to help. There is also More-Fabrics in Belgium and also Modelli Fabrics who are in Nottingham.

SH are you looking for woven look headling and wall covering or for upholstery ?
