Need an adjustable soft brush to clean the van's roof from three sides - no safe access to the fourth side. Reach has to be at least between 1m and 2.5m. So far I have been looking at those for cleaning lorries but cannot decide which are the best.

Please let me know if you use one you can recommend.

Almost any caravan shop, local market or hardware store will sell telescopic caravan brushes. We have several.

I have bought a couple of the cheaper type telescopic brushes but found the brush heads on them were a bit crap, so on the recommendation of some Funsters I replaced the brush with a Sealey Flo-Thru head which is softer and gets in a lot more nooks and crannies the others did not.

I bought a good one from The Range last time. A bit narrower head than my old one but it was a really good length and the bristles were not too stiff. It even works pretty good with the water running through it without a problem at tge connection you often get with having the weighty pipe attached

That looks a very good head for the van roof with all the protrusions of the roof lights etc

One thing I have noticed having had a few of these is, when you pick it up in the shop and extend the pole it feels super manageable, however, dip the brush in a bucket of water and what appeared light and easy turns out to be bl**dy heavy and difficult to manage. I still use one frequently but always buy the slightly smaller head variety, for that very reason.

I also find the head of the brush unscrews with the weight and I have to do it up again every dip. I find it unwieldy with the hose attached. I might change to one with a microfibre end to get around the roof protrusions and in the channels of the corrugations of the roof. But I only do it once a year ! 🙂
I use a ladder fixed to the side of the van with suction clamps (maybe not an option with A class), then my long arms mean that I can reach areas of the roof by hand without the long handled brush. brush useful for the sides though without use of ladder.

Eye Opener or Jaw Dropper moment.
I think a lot of us have the mistake of buying an aluminium extendable pole washing brushes. I purchased one years ago to do the UPVC facias, soffits & front/rear cladding to the house. I extended it to 4mtrs to start at the top as you do, switched to soap added function, well I could not believe the weight of it filled with water, even the pole bent swinging from left to right, and I got soaked into the bargain.
I still ended up getting up the ladder to get the missed bits, or hard to reach angles.

A few weeks later my rich neighbours paid a bloke to clean their windows, and have all of their cladding & gutters done at the same time. The window cleaner guy used "Pure" water out the back of his van, and it did a pretty good job, didnt take him that long either.
I asked him about the brush he was using, he told me it was a long reach carbon fibre one, with 6mm hose feed, and even full of water it weighed very little.

So I thought, Right then I will get myself one of them,(y) then I saw they were £475, plus the brush heads of various sizes.
Don't even look at the price of water softeners that attach to your home hosepipe.
Horses for courses, I guess.

I too have issues washing the roof, I got the extendable brush, but, once extended I have trouble getting the pressure on the brush to remove stubborn marks, and we have a lot of those as we store in a compound and our pitch is right under a tree !!!

This is not my department ;) but we picked up a decent one a couple of weeks ago from Euro car parts cost about £10ish I think.
