Left l escala Costa Brave today at 0900 landed at Pamplona at 1800. That included lunch stop and an hour stuck at a level crossing. Came down on tolls £90. Looked at alternative route north not much difference in time. What a drive through valleys and over mountains over single metal bridges over lakes . Long day but well worth it. Before you start why drive so long got tests booked tomorrow so was a necessity. What a day.

On leaving l escala just put in no tolls . Actually took us on a toll for about five mins. I will post route when we get home we winged it no map . All the aires map not detailed. I summary.
South towards Girona then Barcelona. Turned north west towards Lleida then monzon and Huesca. That bit was old dual carriageway but after Huesca climbed up and into mountains to Pamplona. Stunning gorge narrow roads but worth the journey shame we couldn’t stop .
Though Pamplona was a small town . How wrong was i its large city so tests and move on for us.

Pamplona is worth a days visit.Excellent aire next to the firestation..BUSBY.

Look on the bright side when they have San Fermin & the runnning of the bulls early July the population increases by over 500,000.

Must be a nightmare . Very hot today good aire all amenities two dumping points electric to all bays £10 quid.
