All the gear, and no idea!
Going into Slovenia later (No Dars box) and can’t make my mind up which way to go in, anyone done either? I’ve done em both a few years ago on the bike but not with the motorhome, I’m favouring the Vršič at the moment🤔

Where are you going from?

Done Vršič pass in a motorhome and it is stunning but don't know the other one.
Surely if you've done them both before, your the best person to answer your own question depending on where your coming from ?

I’m at camping arneitz in Faakersee, in the middle of the start of both passes.👍

I have, but a few years ago on a motorcycle and not really through the eyes of a motorhomer, the roads that seem wide for a bike could be narrow for a 5 ton 7.5m moho, never mind any overhangs!

We went from Salzburg to Bled no tolls, not sure what pass it was but there were some big hills😂😂
Made my old van grunt a bit.
Still got snow up in the ski resorts.

Looking at photos we went through Golling, Radstadt and Obertauern if that help.

Possible the loiblpaß (just south of Klagenfurt)??

Lovely lunch stop over at a Llama farm.

Well just come over the Wurzenpass and vršič pass, I can safely say that was an experience and a half, now tucked up in Soča in the Soča Valley

If that was the way we came yes it was different!!
Very nice going along the back roads though.
Any snow left at the top?😁

If you came by Bled you did the loiblpaß, if you came by Bovec it was the Vršič, and I wouldn’t have attempted the Vršič in your van👍

We are heading that way in September so read this with interest. We will be heading over from Afritz am See so may give your route a try down to the Soča Valley. My MH is only 6m so should be doable?

Should be a breeze in a 6m van👍 Once over the top and into the soča valley we pulled into Kamp Triglav, thought we’d try Kamp soča instead and it was full of kids playing football and a few had their guitars out, so we stayed the night and it wasn’t a bad site to be fair, bit of a free for all which I guess is the norm down here.

Now moved on towards Croatia but still in Slovenia a nice little aire in a small village called Žerovnica behind a restaurant, all the amenities recently installed and it’s €15 a night, NO obligation to eat there, although we might sample the grub in a bit.👍

If you are fancying at half day in Bled this is a nice stop over.
10 minutes walk to the lake.

We did the walk around the lake early morning at the temperature was over 30 so to hot for the pups.

Thanks Westy66. We are going to stay at Kamp Koren, looks nice from what I can see, maybe move on from there to somewhere yet to be decided!

There’s a nice restaurant in Kobarid called Topli Val 👍👍.
opposite is a nice cafe just for a coffee and such, have a great stay.
There’s some roadworks just before you get to Kobarid they shouldn’t hold you up👍
