I am in S. Poland and have approx. 5 weeks to UK MOT expiry.

I have just e-mailed DVSA pointing out that with 5-6 days to cover 1500km to Dunkirk, assuming I am allowed and can stop in Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France, then I still have to arrange ferry and MOT and do 14 days quarantine in UK, so I need at least 4 weeks to arrange all this.

They are only deferrring MOTs with about 7 days notice, so I have requested to be advised next week of deferral.

Has anyone been in same position recently and made a similar request? If so what was the result, please?

This very recent post by a trader (on a thread OP posted on previously) may help -
“HGV testing has now resumed but dvla is still granting 3 month extension to those due in July and Aug to prevent an overload of the system HGV only had 3 months at a time not 6 months like cars and MoHos
It is anticipated that when class4 and 7 testing is resumed it to will be granting further extensions in the following months to any announcement whether it be a full 6 or a shortened 3 month extension is yet to be seen and end to extension for these classes is currently under discussion.”

Not sure if that’s enough reassurance, though?

Thanks, but nothing definite enough there in my view.
