More than toes wet now!
We have a Fiamma hab door grab \ security handle on our motorhome and the key \ lock barrel is getting very worn so looking to replace this.

I've sourced a new replacement barrel and keys (98656-345) however they seem to come without instructions on how to remove the existing barrel and refit the new one.

I've scoured the web with no success so wondering if any member of the gang has done this or has knowledge on how to do this?

the barrel should have a small logo lettering. zadi

if not it will be another make.

You will need to buy a barrel removal key. It’s a red key.

your find them on eBay as well as a full set of keys and replacement barrels.

to use the removal key is this.
unlock the barrel to be removed. With the existing key Then push in the removal key hard into the barrel and your hear a click.
slowley remove the old barrel.

the new barrel is the same in reverse.
just did ALL mine that’s one key now for All the locks.

although i think there is a member that has a full set and removal key in the classified adds here on the forum.

i rekon that it is done from the side that is flush with the motorhome wall and has to be removed to pull the large spring clip off.

I don't think its a zadi style lock, it has a large srung clip holding it in place I believe.

I never found anything like that on any of the zadi lock barrels I changed I had one that was hard to remove but it was the the tumbler at the bottom but I still managed to remove it.

i believe its this type and not a Zadi type that a removal key ( which i have ) is needed.
if it is as i believe then it will need the whole mechanism removing .

this is a Fiamma security door handle lock mechanism it is not held in the same way as a standard Zadi lock.

This thread has just about covered the two types of lock barrels fitted so hopefully the OP will be able to sort it out now.

I have put the key dimensions of the keys on the ad so there is a good chance that if the thickness of the key is 2.5mm then there is a good chance that they are Zadi locks. With 10 cylinders you should be able to change all of the locks

Many thanks guys for all the feedback.(y)

I can confirm it's not a Zadi lock barrel that needs the "red key" removal tool. The item shown by Phill D in post #8 is what I have.(y)
This is what the key looks like.

From what's being said (and I'll have another look when over at the motorhome in next couple of days - weather permitting) the "C" shaped clip will fit over the barrel threads and will be tight against the van side. This will necessitate removal of the whole unit to allow access to the clip for removal with the reverse for fitment of the replacement.

Will let you know how I get on.
