Hi all
Have been reading numerous payload articles and want to take our Merlin to a weighbridge to work out if we are carrying too much!
i am struggling however to locate a public weighbridge near to Stockport - does anyone know of one?
many thanks and have a good weekend

Public weighbridges should be listed under your council details / website. They usually licence weighbridges.

You could try the local quarries. They have weighbridges that they often allow you to use.

Yes have tried the local council website without luck - just directs me to their licensing procedure - hence hoping someone may know of one.

Around us the weighbridges are at council rubbish dumps.
So worth looking at the local tip.

Builders are weighed on the way in, dump the rubble and the weighed on the way out and pay X amount per kilo dumped.

(And every builder locally brings along the biggest fattest bloke on site, who nips out of the cab as the tipper goes on the weighbridge, and then ensures he is in the cab on the weigh/way out)

Commercial scrap yards usually have a weigh bridge to weigh the lorries in and out.

I think the recycling centre at Sharston (and maybe others) have a weighbridge

Think there’s one on the A537 between Monks Heath and Macc, near Henbury. On Cheshire East’s website as a public facility.
