Absolute beginners.
Well, more like a week actually, but we are now ready, the launch pad for "Susie Sunlight" is complete and waiting for occupation. All dug out by hand and loaded into a skip, with a wheel barrow.
Luckily, I could get the skip right along side the dig out. 100mm deep of type 1 MOT road stone,compacted + the gravel traps, and 50mm of Cotswold finest stone chippings. 4 x 600mmsq paving slabs for the wheels to sit on. Even had a little bit of room to pop back in a bit foliage, that should help to soften the stark look.
It's only had a test with the T5 so far, but there were no signs of any sinking, or furrowing, but time will tell.
In total the job came in for under £1k. 5 x 850kg of type 1. 4 x 850kg Cotswold stone. 20sq. mt. of membrane. 12sq.mt of gravel traps. A bit of ducting for any future cabling requirements from the path line to the house. A tub of resin tarmac to make good along the one cut edge. A compacter plate for half a day. 4 days graft from me + the youngest of our sons put in a day as well.
Mike.

Very smart, if your round my way with your shovel and barrow I always give my labourers a coffee.

I wheelbase will be the deciding factor on any new Motor Home purchase.

Are the slabs for the tyres to sit on, I would have thought they would have been better off on gravel?

Very smart
Are you going to cement in a few post to stop theft?
I was going to rely on a few Milenco wheel clamps, a steering wheel lock, and alarms, Oh and next doors Labs, that bark at everything, and leap against a slightly rickety fence alarmingly. :rolleyes:
Mike

I obtained the wheel base and track figures off the tinternet, and had the rear overhang measured by the supplier. On balance I thought the slabs would be better at the same level, but If I change my mind, it's easier to lift and relay the gravel underneath than the reverse. I only have about 10cmin length of free play to juggle with.

I really don't like folk who boast.:whistle2::wink::RollEyes::Smile:
Just wish there was a fairer allocation when free play was being dished out!:crying:
"It ain't what you got, It's how you use it", and I'm playing freely with mine :giggle: .
