Well, more like a week actually, but we are now ready, the launch pad for "Susie Sunlight" is complete and waiting for occupation. All dug out by hand and loaded into a skip, with a wheel barrow.
Luckily, I could get the skip right along side the dig out. 100mm deep of type 1 MOT road stone, compacted + the gravel traps, and 50mm of Cotswold finest stone chippings. 4 x 600mmsq paving slabs for the wheels to sit on. Even had a little bit of room to pop back in a bit foliage, that should help to soften the stark look.
It's only had a test with the T5 so far, but there were no signs of any sinking, or furrowing, but time will tell.
In total the job came in for under £1k. 5 x 850kg of type 1. 4 x 850kg Cotswold stone. 20sq. mt. of membrane. 12sq.mt of gravel traps. A bit of ducting for any future cabling requirements from the path line to the house. A tub of resin tarmac to make good along the one cut edge. A compacter plate for half a day. 4 days graft from me + the youngest of our sons put in a day as well.
Mike.
