With our love of the Peak District I can't think why we haven't found this site before. It's at Ilam Hall National Trust. Very small site but with the usual facilities and some hard standing. Sunday - Friday £12, Friday night to Sunday am £17 all with electricity included. No facilities for children but plenty of running about space just off the site. Very very quiet with just the occasional owl at night,. Poor tv and mobile phone signal but public phone available.
The NT parkland is immaculate with absolutely stunning views. There is a pretty tearoom with terrace and a gift shop. Not much to do but walk and chill out but if this is what you like then I can heartily recommend this site. The walk across the fields to the Dovedale stepping stones is a must if you haven't been before. NT wardens very friendly and helpful.
IF YOU GO, DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!
