BEWARE OF BUGS THAT CAN MAKE YOUR BIKE VANISH
UK
03/09/2019
The sale of DIY debugging devices has rocketed to combat the use by criminals of hidden GPS trackers to locate desirable motorcycles and steal them at an opportune time.
Bug-finding gadgets are advertised on the internet from between £20 to £150.
"It’s worth bearing in mind that thieves hide their bugs in places that only professional bug hunters with the right equipment could find," says vehicle crime expert Dr Ken German.
"Most of these devices require some sort of internet connectivity and whilst experts can tell if there is surrounding Wi-Fi activity or if hotspots and SIM cards are used including who might be responsible, not many of us can.
"That said, the sale of DIY debugging devices has rocketed."

My comment:
All well and good, but I would lay money a good deal of the detectors are being bought by scrotes to suss out legitimate trackers of not only bikes but cars, vans and motorhomes
