Lithium batteries are getting cheaper.

Plus the import duty and delivery is 2 months away. :(

There's another seller doing it for £254.56.

If it is a decent battery it could be an indication that prices in Europe may fall or it could be a piece of junk. At that price even if you get caught for duty etc., could be worth a risk.

Personally it would worry me, buying a battery that I wasn't sure what was inside. Might be fine, but might be junk or just plain dangerous. Who knows?

I spent a lot of time recently deciding on a supplier of LiFePO4 for client vans. The one I ended up going with was Roamer - specifically their new, 2nd gen battery.

They have a 10 year UK warranty, a 250a Bluetooth BMS and proper low temperature protection. I spent a long time talking with the company owner who explained all of the upgrades in the new battery and really knew his stuff. I've ordered the new 460Ah version for the build I'm currently doing.

Do they produce the product in the U.K. or is just imported Chinese stock and branded with their company name ?

It's designed in the UK, then made in China to their spec.

It isn't just a re-branded job, like a lot of others.

It looks the same as others as no doubt is made in the same factories as others, but has upgraded wiring, a more thorough and powerful BMS and the cells are CATL (Tesla supplier).

Story of my life, having just forked out top dollar! 🤨

That's interesting. I'm fairly certain when I looked a couple of months ago the underseat battery was 200Ah. It's now 240Ah. And the price has come down.

Yeah, these are the 2nd gen batteries.

Hi..... As you mentioned in your post , are you talking about their batteries which are on pre order for Jan delivery ? Have just spoken to them ( guy called Steve ) on their online chat.....He answered promptly ......He also mentioned they hold victron and renogy kit , which is good as I like the look of the renogy dc/dc with built in MPPT(y)

You could ask chrisandbev who are selling one, they have bought 2 and keeping one. ;)

We’ve tested some of those cells and then returned them. They were way below stated capacity. Who knows how old they actually are - but definitely not Grade A.

Steve from Roamer runs this Facebook group, some interesting information on there.

Wissels one or the cheap one?

Expect LiFePO4 cells to fall in price next year. The patents on LiFePO4 cells run out next year.

I read quite a lot of your posts and admire your dedication in research of most things technical and advanced technology. I on the other hand am a complete numpty with a very short attention span hence my lack of knowledge.
So my point is what is your considered opinion of the battery in the op's link? My current set up is 2 x 90ah the weight saving alone (given I don't have loads of cash to splash about) would make the viability of 1 x 200ah battery + the weight saving an attractive upgrade.

Only a 1 year warranty, you pays yer money??
Agree. I thought these things had a large duty cycle. One year warranty does not display much confidence in the product.
