Does anyone remember OS2? IBM Do...
I do and used it, good OS, and they had the lead over MS by nearly a year, but they completely screwed up the marketing, as someone said at the time "IBM couldn't market their way out of a paper bag"

Why did Windows NT last so long in commercial environments when domestic had to suffer 95/98/ME? Because Windows NT and OS/2 shared the same roots.

This thread had me thinking yesterday. Anybody else here ever had to learn any Japanese to write software? We used terminals from a company called Sanders Data Systems (later taken over by Harris) in the mid to late 1970s. They had off-line capabilities for when the BT line went down but all the code had to be written in Katana.

The kit also came with a version of the first (table tennis) computer game built in but they had to disable it because the people who were marketing the machines for pubs and amusement arcades at the time threatened to sue them :Smile:

Wonder what the coders of today would think of that sort of thing ::bigsmile:
